Hardy Frames, Inc. markets and manufactures pre-fabricated shear wall systems. The Hardy Frame® system allows Building Design Professionals to economically and safely minimize wall space to maximize wall openings while resisting high wind and earthquake loads. The Hardy Frame® product line includes Panels, Brace Frames and Moment Frames.

Panels

are available in widths of 9, 12, 18 and 24 inches. The 18 and 24 inch widths are now available, and evaluated, in heights up to 20 feet.

• All Panels have been evaluated per the ICC Evaluation Service Acceptance Criteria AC322 to meet the 2006 and 2009 IBC Codes. 
• The evaluation includes installations on concrete, Raised Floor and Upper Floor Systems
• Can be used as a one to one replacement for Braced Wall and Alternate Braced Wall Panels as required under IBC Section 2308 and IRC Section R602. 
• Provides LEED Credit opportunities for Materials and Resources (MR) for Material Efficient Framing and Environmentally Preferable Products. 

Brace Frames are available in widths of 32 and 44 inches and in heights up to 13 feet. For conditions allowing more wall width, Brace Frames will have less uplift and compression forces. 

• All Brace Frames have been evaluated per the ICC Evaluation Service Acceptance Criteria AC322 to meet the 2006 and 2009 IBC Codes. 
• The evaluation includes installations on concrete, Raised Floor and Upper Floor Systems 
• Can be used as a one to one replacement for Braced Wall and Alternate Braced Wall Panels as required under IBC Section 2308 and IRC Section R602. 
• Provides LEED Credit opportunities for Materials and Resources (MR) for Material Efficient Framing and Environmentally Preferable Products. 

Moment Frames are available in column widths of 9, 12 and 18 inches and in single story heights up to 20 feet. Two story applications are also available upon request.

• Moment Frames use the SidePlate connection, which has been evaluated per the ICC Evaluation Service Acceptance Criteria AC129. 
• Hardy Frame® Moment Frames are “Special Moment Resisting Frames” with an R value of 8.0, Cd of 5.5. 
• In most cases, standard Frames are delivered completely pre-assembled, including wood nailers, with no field welding or special inspection required. 
• Typical installations attach to the foundations with a “pinned base” connection
