The Hardy Frame® System

The Hardy Frame® system consists of a fully engineered and tested, pre-manufactured, steel shear wall that is connected at the top to receive lateral “shear” loads from a structure and connected at the bottom to transfer shear and uplift loads to the foundation.  Screwing into framing members above completes the top connection.  The bottom connection, when installing at a concrete foundation, is made by bolting for both shear and uplift resistance.  When installing on a floor system, bolting the two bottom corners resists the uplift and screwing down into framing members below transfers the shear. The Hardy Frame® shear wall, along with the top and bottom connectors comprise the Hardy Frame® System.
