Bearing Plate

The Hardy Frame® Bearing Plate (HFBP) is designed for use under Panels (only) being installed on floor systems. The Bearing Plate is a steel bar that measures ¾" thick x 3-½" wide, the length is 6" greater than the width of the Panel being installed. The purpose of the Bearing Plate is to increase the bearing area below the Panel in order to distribute compression loads over a larger surface area of the material below. A second purpose of the Bearing Plate is to provide additional screw holes, which may be necessary for the shear transfer of higher loads.
