Base Extension

The Hardy Frame® Base Extension (HFBX) is designed to provide a connection from Hardy Frame® Panels and Brace Frames to adjacent wood mudsills and vertical members. The product is a 3-½" x 3-9/16" x 3-½" U-shape channel that is 9" long. To install, locate the end with the “break-away” tab under the bottom corner of the Panel or Frame that will have adjacent wood framing members. The HFBX may be located up to 6-¾" beyond the edge of the shear wall. The HFBX is secured in place by tightening the hold down bolt of the Panel or Frame. Wood members are attached by nailing through the holes provided. The HFBX may be installed after Panels or Frames have been set, by removing the “break-away” tab, then sliding the product under the Panel or Frame.
